Bowl (#4)

Bowl (#4) is a sculptural vessel, hand carved from Sweet Chestnut, a resourceful English timber. As hard as oak (in its heartwood) but much more lightweight. It certainly carves just as well, if not easier! I especially like the channels in the main bowl leading inwards which were hand-burnished with a perfect little stone from the Helford river here in Cornwall. Finished with raw linseed oil (food safe). See the last photo for general size vs my A5 journal.
